HSGM Thermcutters Now in Stock
Fi-Tech is pleased to announce the addition of the HSGM Thermcutter to our spare parts inventory. The HSGM Thermcutter is known as the most dependable and durable hot knife unit used in the Synthetic and Nonwovens industries today.
The HSGM Thermcutter is a hand-operated unit designed to cut yarn or fabric from tubes or wraps from production equipment. Easily activated by a trigger mechanism, the transformer has the capability to heat the blade to approximately 600 degrees Celsius in 6-8 seconds.
We also stock a complete line of Thermcutter repair parts including replacement blades, housing covers and internal components.

For additional specifications and pricing for the HSGM Thermcutter and replacement parts, please contact Keith Wise in our Spare Parts department, by email at kwise@fi-tech.com or by telefax at 804.794.9514.
Enka tecnica joins the Fi-Tech roster
On October 1,1998, Fi-Tech, inc. proudly became the North American representative for Enka tecnica GmbH of Heinsberg, Germany. A leading manufacturer of spinnerets, machine components, opto-electronic instruments and lab testing equipment, Enka tecnica is well known throughout the industry for quality products. Enka tecnica's product line includes spunbond spin plates, melt blown die tips, staple fiber spinnerets and spinnerets

and spin packs for micro-fiber and bi-component processes.
Enka tecnica makes for all melt spinning processes in any design or size. High precision machinery allows for special tolerances - from as low as 0.001 mm for round hole capillary diameters, to 0.005mm for capillary lengths to 0.001 mm for lobe widths. Spinnerets with a L/D ratio of 30:1 are also achievable.

A pioneer in developing interlacing systems that provide customers with desired yarn cohesion, Enka tecnica's competence is represented in three distinctly different jet systems. The Et-Jet-PP system, which is a spinnerets and spin packs series of open type air jets, used mostly in the yarn spinning process; the Et-Jet-GS system, a closed air system designed for heavier denier industrial filaments and carpet yarns; and the Et-Jet-TD system, which employs intense entanglements at yarn speeds of more than 1000m/min and low air consumption, for use in false twist texturing processes.
Enka tecnica's Lufan® series of aspirator guns
allow for the safe operation of machinery during product changes and doffing in spinning, draw-winding and draw-texturizing operations. The Lufan® series of string up and doffing aspirators includes the HS series for line speeds up to 8000m/min and yarn counts from 1,600 dtex to 10,000 dtex; the LC series for speeds up to 5,000m/min and yarn counts from 1,600 dtex to 10,000 dtex and the 100/200 series designed for slower textile processes including draw-winding, draw-texturizing and a slower spinning process (viscose).
Enka tecnica's line of opto-electronic instruments includes the Fraytec lIl, an opto-electronic broken filament detection system for use in filament yarn spinning operations for both partially and fully oriented yarns. The Fraytec III is a sensor that can provide an all round view of the threadline. The sensor is triggered as a thread passes over two ceramic pins. An optic fiber cable then transmits light from the control unit to the thread, checking for broken filaments on one side. Optical components reflect the light to a receptor thereby checking the other side of the thread.
Look for more information about Enka tecnica's quality components in future issues of In Line with Fi-Tech.

A Virtual Convention at TextileShow.com
Imagine being able to travel through an exhibition hall and acquire literature and new product information without leaving the comfort of your own chair. The new website, www.textileshow.com, makes it all a reality and Fi-Tech is there.

A virtual tradeshow for the textile industry, www.TextileShow.com, offers 20 exhibition halls that have been divided by specific areas of the textile industry. Fi-Tech has a "virtual booth" in both the Nonwovens hall and the Machinery and Equipment hall.
To access Fi-Tech at www.TextileShow.com:
Check in at the registration desk, complete a registration form and you will be assigned a Badge ID number. You will only have to do this once. In the future, you will only need to key in your Badge ID number to re-enter the show.
Select a bag to carry with you throughout the show. As you move through the halls and visit exhibiting companies, you will fill it by requesting information on products, services or featured items that exhibitors have posted in their booths.
Once you have selected your bag, you will find yourself at the Information Desk, then you can select the exhibition hall you'd like to visit.
Once you have entered the Nonwovens hall - or the Machinery and Equipment hall you will have access to the Fi-Tech booth. We have two booths - one geared towards the Synthetic Fibers industry and one to the Nonwovens industry. Both booths are accessible in the Machinery and Equipment Hall. However, only the Nonwovens booth can bg accessed throuph the Nonwovens hall.
Welcome to the Fi-Tech booth! Please feel free to browse through our product directory and request information on our vast product offering. You can also access our web-site from here.
Be sure to check out some of the other interesting sites in this virtual convention center...including the arcade, show highliphts, refreshment area, and even the restrooms.
We're very excited about this new and innovative way to keep you informed about Fi-Tech's new products and services. We feel that the TextileShow.com gives us a non-traditional method of interaction with our customers that is simple yet fun to use.
If you have any questions about TextileShow.com or our own web-site, fi-tech.com, please call our office and we'll be happy to assist you.
