Fi-Tech, Inc. and Uwe Gaedike Form Joint Venture Acquiring Oerlikon Enka Tecnica

Fi-Tech, Inc. and Uwe Gaedike, the current Managing Director of Oerlikon Enka Tecnica, have formed a joint venture company, Uwe Gaedike Beteiligung GmbH, and have successfully completed the purchase of Oerlikon Enka Tecnica GmbH, effective November 23, 2009. Mr. Gaedike will continue as Managing Director of the new company, Enka Tecnica GmbH, headquartered in Groebzig (Saxony-Anhalt), Germany.

Enka Tecnica will retain all employees and operate from two manufacturing sites in Ubach-Palenberg and Groebzig, Germany. The company is a world leader in the precision manufacturing of spinnerets for the synthetic fiber and nonwoven fabric industries as well as precision micro components for other markets. Their product line includes spinnerets for aramid, acetate, polyester, polypropylene, and nylon fibers as well as spunbond, meltblown and hydroentangled nonwovens.

Fi-Tech, Inc., of Richmond, Virginia, USA, is the lead company in the U.S. and NAFTA countries, representing European and American manufacturers of equipment and components for the Synthetic Fiber and Nonwoven Fabric industries for more than 35 years. Fi-Tech has represented Enka Tecnica in NAFTA since 1998 and has been active in selling spinnerets since Fi-Tech was formed in 1972. Fi-Tech will continue to provide technical expertise, sales and service for Enka Tecnica in the U.S.A, Canada and Mexico.
